Getting a Mazda CX-5 oil change is essential to ensuring your SUV remains in top shape for as long as you own it. You’ll need to know the correct Mazda CX-5 oil type for the top results and performance on Newhall and Valencia roads. Learn more from our guide below, which covers the type of oil recommended for the Mazda CX-5 and the oil change frequency.
Mazda recommends its genuine0W-20 oil for the Mazda CX-5. This is a full synthetic oil, which lasts longer in your vehicle and keeps parts cleaner. Full synthetic oil is also better suited for use in higher-temperature environments. However, you still need to check your owner’s manual or the driver information screen to see what Mazda CX-5 oil is required for your particular model.
The best Mazda CX-5 oil type is the fully synthetic 0W-20. But what exactly is synthetic motor oil? Synthetic and conventional (or “regular”) motor oils may look the same. But there are some key distinctions between the two varieties. They’re both petroleum-based. However, synthetic oil has undergone more chemical refinement to make it as effective and long-lasting as possible, while keeping your vehicle in top shape for your daily Sylmar drives.
How often should you change the oil in your Mazda CX-5? While the Engine Oil Maintenance Monitor in your vehicle will alert you when it’s time for a change, it’s a good idea to stay informed about recommended intervals. For precise oil change intervals and to purchase OEM parts, refer to your owner’s manual or contact our service department for further assistance. If you choose to perform the oil change yourself, be sure to use a genuine Mazda oil filter to help ensure optimal performance and longevity—you can pick one up from our parts center.
